When Preferred Family Healthcare was founded more than 40 years ago in a barn in rural northeast Missouri, I could not have envisioned that it would become one of the largest community-based healthcare providers in the Midwest. What I did know was that our early employees shared a commitment to creating a compassionate, high-quality health care company where those in need would feel welcomed and cared for. It’s a commitment our 2,500 PFH team members (which I prefer to call a family) continues to share today.
As our company has grown and changed, so have the needs of the individuals and families in the communities we serve. How you find and choose a health care provider looks different than it did 40 years ago, whether you are seeking medical care, dental care, behavioral health services, or have developmental disability needs.
